A Letter to My Financial Future

Dear Future Me,

I know things haven’t gone the way we planned. There were dreams we built that didn’t last, numbers that didn’t add up, and a chapter that ended before we were ready.

But I need you to know something: this is not the end.

It might feel like everything is uncertain. Like you're rebuilding from pieces you didn’t ask to hold. But even in this moment—especially in this moment—you are not lost. You're being rerouted.

Yes, divorce disrupted the life we imagined. But it did not cancel the future we still get to create. The spreadsheets, the support income, the home equity, the refinance questions—they’re real. But they’re not the whole story.

Because clarity isn’t just about numbers. It’s about knowing where you’re going and why.

So here’s what we’re going to do.

We're going to:

• Look at what we have, honestly and without fear.

• Ask the hard questions about the house, the budget, and what we need next.

• Make choices based not just on emotion, but on strategy.

• Get help from people who understand this space and speak our language.

We're going to take one empowered step at a time.

And we’re going to remember that we are not doing this alone.

He is not overwhelmed by our fears. He is not late with provision. He is not done writing our story.

Future Me, I believe in you. I believe in what you’re building. I believe in the wisdom this season is giving you.

And I believe that this next chapter—the one with clarity, peace, and possibility—is already beginning.
